XIE Ping    

Vice-chairman, CF40 Executive Council; Former Executive Vice President, China Investment Corporation

 

Dr. Xie is Senior Research Fellow of CF40. He worked for the People’s Bank of China from 1985 to 2004, where he held a number of senior positions, including Director General of the Financial Stability Department, Director General of the Research Bureau, Governor of the Hunan branch of the PBOC, Director General of the Non-Banking Supervision Department, and Deputy Director General of the Policy Research Office. In 2004, he became Vice General Manager at Central Huijin Investment Ltd. From 2007 to 2015, he served as Deputy Chief Investment Officer, Member of Investment Committee, and Member of Executive Committee at China Investment Corporation. In the meantime, he joined Shenyin & Wanguo Securities Co. Ltd. and assumed the position of Chairman.

 

He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Renmin University of China. He has published various influential articles in Journal of Economic Research, Journal of Financial Research and other high-recognized journals. He also author several books including The coordination between monetary policy and exchange rate policy in an open economy in transition a case study on China from 1994 to 2000.
