Educational Background
Mr. Long received his Bachelor's Degree in Science (1987), Master's Degree in Management Science (1992), and Doctorate in Economics (1998) from Peking University. He also attended the Ford Program on modern economics at Renmin University, a financial planning program by the IMF and a Tsinghua-Harvard Training Program in Public Administration.
Work Experience
Mr. Long is currently Vice President of the Development Research Center (DRC) of the State Council. From 2013 to 2015, he was Director of the General Office of DRC. From 1993 to 2013, he worked at the Foreign Economic Relations Research Department of DRC and served as its Director. From 1987 to 1993, he worked at Peking University's Urban and Regional Science Department as a lecturer and assistant chairman.

Mr. Long was a visiting research fellow at the Brookings Institution from 1998 to 1999. He is a supervisor for PhD candidates and Research Fellow at the University of International Business and Economics, Peking University, Beijing Institute of Technology, and China Executive Leadership Academy in Yan’an. He is Vice President of the China Association for International Economic Cooperation, Director of China Association of International Trade and China Society for WTO Studies, and Vice Chairman of World Economic Forum's Committee for Global Trade Agenda 2009.

Mr. Long has long been engaged in research on China's foreign economic policy, and written a number of papers on major policy issues concerning foreign trade, cross-border investment, international economic cooperation, special economic zones, and regional economic cooperation. His research fields include macroeconomics, industrial policy, auto industry and grain economy. He enjoys government special allowance and was awarded First Prize for excellent research findings in philosophy and social sciences, and the honorary title of Excellent Young Teacher of Beijing. He has won the DRC's annual Excellent Papers Award several times, a China Development Research award, and a National Prize for Excellent Papers on Foreign Trade and Economic Relations.
